Melbourne: Celebration of the Feast of the Holy Protection and the Anniversary of 28th October 1940
On Monday, 28th October, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the Matins and led the Divine Liturgy in celebration of the Feast of the Holy Protection of the Theotokos at the Archdiocesan Church of St Eustathios in Melbourne.
During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace addressed the congregation, which included the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr Emmanouil Kakavelakis, and spoke about the significance of the day.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, he conducted a Doxology in honour of the anniversary of 28th October 1940.
Later that same day, Bishop Kyriakos went to the Australian Hellenic Memorial in the “heart” of Melbourne and held a Trisagion for the Heroes of the Epos of 1940, in a ceremony attended by Consul General Mr Kakavelakis, many representatives of community organisations and student delegations.
