Archbishop of Athens led Doxology for the Anniversary of ‘Ohi Day’ at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens
The Anniversary of ‘Ohi Day – 28 October 2940’ was commemorated with a Doxology at the Cathedral of Athens.
Led by His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, the official Doxology took place on Monday morning at the Cathedral of Athens.
The government was represented by the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
Also in attendance were the Minister of Labour & Social Security, Niki Kerameos; former Speaker of Parliament, Apostolos Kaklamanis; His Eminence Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea, Director of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Office in Athens; His Eminence Metropolitan Georgios of Guinea, representative of the Patriarch of Alexandria in Athens; Archimandrite Fr. Ieronymos, Archimandrite of the Holy Sepulchre in Athens; representatives of other denominations and churches, Members of Parliament, Athens Mayor Harris Doukas, representatives of the Armed Forces, Security Forces, and the Hellenic Red Cross.
The Master of Ceremonies at the Doxology was Archimandrite Varnavas Theocharis of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
After the Doxology, the Archbishop wished everyone a happy and peaceful commemoration.
