The New Civil Administrator of Mount Athos visits the Ecumenical Patriarch
After the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the celebratory Holy Church of Saint Dimitrios in Xyloporta, on Saturday, 26 October 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received in a private meeting and cooperation the new Civil Administrator of Mount Athos Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, General in retirement, Honorary Chief of the General Staff of the Army and former Minister of National Defence of Greece, who was appointed by the Greek Government to this position last August.
The new Civil Administrator paid his respects to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Bishop of Mount Athos and asked for the patriarchal blessing for his new multi-responsible duties. His All-Holiness once again wished Mr. Stefanis a fruitful service on Mount Athos, an ancient part of the Canonical jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Throne.
The Administrator then had extensive meetings with the President and the members of the Synodal Committee of Mount Athos.
