The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Qatar

On Friday, September 14/27, 2024, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated in the Holy Archdiocese of Qatar.

On the evening of Thursday, September 13/26, 2024, the Great Vespers with the blessing of the five loaves (Artoklasia) was held in the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin.

On the morning of the feast day, in the Church of Saint Isaac the Syriac, Saint George and Saint Makarios of Jerusalem, the Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Qatar, with the co-celebration of the Cross-bearer, Priest Mihail Theocharidis, with the participation of the pious flock.

After the Divine Liturgy, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross took place towards the four points of the horizon according to the Typikon order of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The hymns were sung by the choir of the Holy Church in Arabic and Greek.
