Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of Sydney held for the upcoming visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch
On Friday, 20 September, a Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of the State of New South Wales took place in Sydney, the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia. The Synaxis, which was hosted at the Parish of Saint Nicholas Marrickville, was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
The central topic of discussion was the upcoming Apostolic Visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Australia. In the context of the Synaxis, organisational issues regarding the reception and hospitality of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Sydney, during the first week of His visit, were examined, and His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia gave necessary instructions and directions.
Present at the Synaxis were, among others, His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Panagia Pantanassa Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Eusebios, as well as Mr. Elia Economou, President of the Parish of Saint Spyridon in Kingsford and Vice President of the Intercommunities Council of NSW.
