Archimandrite Dionysios Kasimatis was elected, unanimously, as the new abbot of the Holy Monastery of ‘Agios Georgios Epanosifis’.
As reported by cretalive.gr, following the order and blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, the brotherhood of the Holy Monastery, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, met according to the charter of the Church of Crete and elected by unanimous vote, a new Abbot, Archimandrite Dionysios Kasimatis, and new advisers Archimandrites Filaretos Smaragdakis and Theophylaktos Miliarakis.
It is recalled that the position of the abbot remained vacant, after the assignment of the duties of the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete to Archimandrite Bartholomeos Vogiatzoglou, who served the position for over 19 years.
