Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon visits Vatopedi Monastery

The Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, made a pilgrimage this week to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos.

In addressing the assembled Vatopedi Elders in a monastic synaxis, the hierarch referred to the concept of Christian life, the significance of monasticism in the life of the Church and the mission and testimony that the Church entails for the modern world – a message of hope and salvation.
