GO Youth Melbourne: Youth Social Event at Green Point, Brighton Beach
On Friday 30 December 2022, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Go Youth Melbourne under the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, held its second youth social night at Green Point, Brighton Beach.
Approximately 60 youth and young adults came down to Brighton Beach to enjoy the sunshine and the company of friends, familiar faces and new acquaintances. The weather was perfect with a gentle breeze coming from the ocean.
The youth set up camp around a gazebo and laid out picnic blankets with delicious food to share. Refreshing drinks, including water and soft drinks, were also provided by Go Youth. One of the youths brought a mobile BBQ and grilled up some souvlakia and sausages to share with others. The night continued with music, the football game ‘Jack in the Pack’, cricket and Greek dancing.
As the evening approached, most of the youth packed up their things and headed to Oakleigh for a late dinner. At Oakleigh, the youth shared a dinner of pizzas, fish and chips and frappes while chatting and laughing the night away. It was the perfect way to finish off the year with friends.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this day out. Follow Go Youth Melbourne on Facebook and Instagram for information on future events.
