Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Halkida on Mount Athos

His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Halkida, continued his visit to the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi of Mount Athos over the weekend.

His Eminence officiated at the con-celebratory service on the occasion of the feast day of St. John Chrysostom, as commemorated with the Julian calendar.

The Metropolitan of Halkida, accompanied by the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the venerable Mount Athos monastery, and Vatopedi Fathers, also paid a reverent pilgrimage to the nearby hermitage where Saint Nicodemus the Hesychast and Saint Gregory Palamas lived and worshipped God in asceticism. At the hermitage a memorial service was held.
