Bright Celebration of the Feast Day of Saint David of Evia at his Holy Monastery
With much celebration and spiritual brightness the Holy Monastery of Saint David the Elder celebrated, in Rovies of Northen Evia, on Monday, 31 October and Tuesday, 1 November, the memory of its founder, protector and curator, Saint David of Evia.
On Monday afternoon, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida, Istiaia and Northern Sporades, welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida, and Gortyna, and His Eminence Metropolitan Nikiforos of Megalopolis, who officiated at the Great Vespers, at the Holy Supplication Service in honor of Saint David, preached the divine word and officiated at the litany.
On the major day of the feast, Tuesday 1 November, His Eminence Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida presided over the Orthros and Officiated at the Hierarchical Co-liturgy, he also preached the divine word to the pilgrims who came to venerate the holy feast.
All the pilgrims enjoyed the noble hospitality of the Holy Monastery, of the holy Abbot Archim. Gabriel Emmanouilidis, of the brothers of the Monastery, as well as of all the volunteers of the Holy Monastery, and they were lead by the excellent choir of holy chanters, teachers and students of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkida, with the choir master Mr. Dimitrios Papavasileiou.
