The Consul General of Greece in Sydney visited the Parish-Community of Saint Spyridon, Kingsford
On Wednesday, 2 November 2022, The Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Mr. Yannis Mallikourtis, visited the Parish-Community of Saint Spyridon in Kingsford.
The Greek diplomat, who assumed his duties in the Grand Australian City of Sydney about a month ago, was warmly welcomed by the Proistamenos of the Holy Church of Saint Spyridon Father Steven Scoutas, the President of the Parish – Community, Mr. Elias Economou, together with members of the Board of Directors, and the Head of School of Saint Spyridon College, Ms. Amelia Katsogiannis.
Mr. Mallikourtis was informed about the history of the dynamic Parish-Community and toured the Holy Church of Saint Spyridon and then the facilities of the Greek Orthodox College, specifically visiting the Primary and High Schools where he spoke with the school’s students, as well as the teaching staff.
Concluding the visit, the Consul General of Greece expressed his joy at having the opportunity to meet one of the most vibrant and creative cells of Hellenism in the Antipodes, while he expressed the will of the Greek Consulate to work closely with the Parish – Community of Kingsford and to serve in the best possible way the needs of its members, as well as of all Expatriates in its area of responsibility.
