Victoria: “Schools of Technology for Adults” in 4 parishes – communities
The Greek Welfare Center of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia in Victoria and the “Be Connected” Organisation have launched technology courses in collaboration with the Associations of the Elderly of the Parishes and Communities, from March 2022.
Now, they are pleased to announce the creation of “Schools of Technology for Adults”, in four parishes-communities, in the framework of the “October 2022, month of the elderly” events. These are the parishes – communities:
- Dormition of the Theotokos, North Altona
- Saint Spyridon, South Clayton
- Holy Trinity, RIchmond
- Saint Haralambos, Templestowe
Also strengthened was the team that has been operating for two years, at the initiative of the Oakleigh Community, in the Parish – Community of Holy Anarygi in Oakleigh.
In the “Schools of Technology for Adults” seniors have the opportunity to learn to use their mobile phone, send messages, make video calls, search the Internet, etc.
The duration of the courses depends on the support and need of the participants.
The Greek Welfare Center of the Holy Archdiocese will expand, in the coming months, this program to all Associations of the Elderly and will continue for as long as there is interest and need.
