Cyprus: The occupation authorities rejected the request of the Metropolis of Constantia for a Divine Liturgy in Lefkonioko
The occupation authorities of Cyprus have rejected the request of the Metropolis of Constantia to hold a Divine Liturgy.
As the Metropolis announced, the request was submitted through the United Nations Organization for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Saturday, September 10, in the chapel of the Holy Cross in the occupied town of Lefkonoiko.
The Municipality of Lefkonoiko, which had anticipated a possible rejection, had proposed as an alternative the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Thecla in the refugee settlement of Agioi Anargyroi in Larnaca.
