The Church of Crete to honour Metropolitan Irenaios of Lampis, Sivritos and Skafia

By unanimous decision of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, On next tuesday, the local church will  celebrated the anniversary of the completion of more than thirty years of Hierarchical Ministry of His Eminence Metropolitan Eirineos of Lampis, Sivritos and Skafia.

Specifically, on the morning of August 23rd, a Tri-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be celebrated, at the Holy Pilgrimage Church of Saint Nektarios Fourfouras in Rethymno, for the name day of His Eminence Metropolitan Irenaios. The celebrant honored Metropolitan,  Metropolitan Amfilochios of Kissamos and Selinos and Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Herronisos will co-officiate.

The celebratory homily of the day will be delivered, on behalf of the Holy Eparchical Synod of the Church of Crete, by Metropolitan Amfilochios of Kissamos and Selinos.

Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the venerable Patriarchal Letter for the joyous anniversary will be read and offered by His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, as well as the Synodical gift of gratitude and honorary Papyrus to Metropolitan Irenaios of Lampis, Sivritos and Skafia.

The Holy Synod addresses the Holy Clergy, the Monastic Brotherhoods, the local government leaders and the pious people of the Great Island of Crete, and invites everyone “”let us all pay the due honour and thanks to the honored Hierarch of the Apostolic Church of Crete, on the occasion of the 30-plus year anniversary of His High Priesthood”.
