Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to liturgise for the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos at the historical monastery of Soumela

The Divine Liturgy of the 15th of August, on the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, in the historic Holy Monastery of Panagia Soumela in Trabzon, will be celebrated again this year by His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Trisagion (memorial service) will be chanted for the blessed Metropolitan of Drama, Pavlos, as it is made known in the relevant Announcement of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which is as follows:

“For the time being, it is gratefully known to those interested that, having secured the required permits of the Prefecture of Trebizond, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will also celebrate this year, on the 15th of August, the Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Theotokos, at the Historical Holy Monastery of Soumela, the Holy Festive Divine Liturgy, in which, at the end of the Divine Liturgy, there will be a Trisagion (memorial service) chanted for the respose of the soul of the ever-remembered Metropolitan Paul of Dramas, who himself many times in the past honored this holy celebration of the Dormition of the Theotokos at Soumela Monastery, which is the sacred palladium of the Pontians everywhere, with his presence and participation”
