Patriarch of Alexandria to Kirill: Either you withdraw “Exarch” Klin or I will depose him

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria sent a letter to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow in which he insisted in a very strict tone that if he won’t withdraw the “Exarch” Metropolitan Klin from Africa and won’t lift his relevant appointment, he will proceed to his deposition.

In his letter, Patriarch Theodore pointed out once again the non-canonical in every sense of Orthodox Ecclesiology, decision of the Holy Synod of the Church of Russia, regarding the establishment of an “Exarchate” in the canonical territory of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.

He also emphasized that the so-called “Exarch” of the Russian Church, Metropolitan Klin Leonidas, has already been appointed.

He told the Patriarch of Moscow that the decisions to proclaim the Ecumenical Patriarch and himself, as well as all those who recognized the Ukrainian Autocephaly, as “schismatic, obviously lack seriousness, much less normal status.”

The Patriarch of Alexandria clarified that we “tolerate” the non-existent creation of an “Exarchate”, awaiting the revocation of the decision, without imposing an ecclesiastical ransom on Metropolitan Klin.
