Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to celebrate feast day of St Photios in Halki
The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday concluded a nearly week-long pastoral visit to the northeast Aegean Island of Imvros, his native land.
On Sunday, His All Holiness will arrive on the Marmara Sea Isle of Halki to officiate at a Divine Liturgy at the Halki Theological Seminary to commemorate the memory of St. Photios, Patriarch of Constantinople, the patron saint of the Holy Trinity Monastery and Halki Island.
The announcement issued by the Holy Monastery of The Holy Trinity, states in this regard:
” with great pleasure it is announced that on the feast day of our Father among the Saint, Photios the Great, The Patriarch of Constantinople, confessor, protector of our holy monastery and the theological School of Halki, His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, will preside and take part in the holy divine services for this feast day, on the 6th of February 2022. On the day before, 5th of February, the Great Vespers will take place at 5pm.
After the Divine Liturgy there will follow a celebratory meal in the reception hall of the Theological School of Halki “
