The Ecumenical Patriarch at the celebrating Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, Vafeochorion

On Monday, 25 March 2024, the feast day of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated at the celebrating church of the Annunciation in Vafeochorion on the Bosphorus.

Present also for the feast day were: The newly elected Metropolitan Iakovos of Ireland, Archons of the Great Church of Christ, representatives of AHEPA from Greece, The president of the neighbouring Armenian Community, Mr. NAzaret Ozsahakyan, faithful from the Bosphorus community and from overseas.

The Ecumenical Patriarch was addressed with warm words by His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, Overseer of the Bosphorus District, and also by the President of the Ecclesiastical Committee, Mr. Chrysovalantis Tsavidis, while His All-Holiness duly responded.

After this, the Patriarch conducted a Trisagion at the grave of the relatives of his predecessor, the Late Ecumenical Patriarch Joachim III, which is located in the courtyard of the Church, where he prayed for the repose of their souls.
