Northcote: The Feast Day of Pentecost at the Church of Saint Paraskevi, St Albans

On Sunday, 23 June 2024, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, visited the Parish of Saint Paraskevi in the suburb of Saint Albans, Melbourne, and liturgised on the occasion of the feast day of Pentecost. After the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers of the Holy Spirit took place, in which the prayers of kneeling were read according to the order of the Church.

Addressing the congregation, His Grace referred to the importance of the feast of Pentecost for the Church and the power of the All-Holy and Life-giving Spirit, which constitutes the institution of the Church and is the continuation of Christ’s redemptive work throughout the ages. His Grace wished for the souls of the faithful believers to be enlightened and brightened by the Holy Spirit.

Finally, Bishop Evmenios conveyed to everyone the wishes and blessings of their Chief Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, while he reminded the congregation of the upcoming Apostolic Visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Australia, in October.
