(Video) Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visits Imbros

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in his birthplace, Imbros, on Wednesday, 2 July 2025. His All-Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Vasilios of Constantia and Ammochostos, Hierarch of the Holy Church of Cyprus, and Patriarchal Deacons Anatolios Doxastakis and Photios Poulopoulos.

At the island’s port, they were warmly welcomed by the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, and residents of the island.

Afterwards, everyone went and venerated the Metropolitan Church of the Virgin Mary, where His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos addressed the Ecumenical Patriarch and His All-Holiness responded appropriately.

It is noted that next Saturday, 5 July 2025, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will celebrate the forty-day memorial service of the late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia, who served as the Shepherd of the islands of Imbros and Tenedos for eighteen years.
