Thessaloniki: The Feast Day of Pentecost at the Cathedral of the Wisdom of God

On Pentecost Sunday, a festive Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the celebrating Cathedral of the Wisdom of God in Thessaloniki, presided over by His Grace Bishop Nikephoros of Amorion, who preached the holy sermon after the reading of the Holy Gospel.

Immediately after the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers of the Holy Spirit (Kneeling vespers) were celebrated, which this year, with the wishes of the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki, was celebrated, according to the Asmatic, or Parish or Secular Typikon. Before the beginning of the Vespers, the Proistamenos of the Cathedral Church, Fr. Georgios Heilas, after thanking the Metropolitan for the blessing he gave to celebrate this typikon in the Cathedral Church, after many decades, as there was an old tradition that this typikon was celebrated in this particular Church of the city, he also thanked the Presiding Hierarch for his presence in the celebrating Holy Church.

Afterwards, His Grace gave a brief explanation to the large congregation regarding the conducting of the Asmatic Typikon.
