The Sunday of Orthodoxy at the Parish of the Presentation of Our Lord, Coburg

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the faithful gathered at the Parish of the Presentation of Our Lord in Coburg for the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the first Sunday of Great Lent. The Liturgy was presided over by Father Christodoulos Kapetas from Mount Athos, accompanied by the Parish Priest, Father Leonidas Ioannou, and Father Efstathios Papadopoulos.
Father Christodoulos Kapetas preached to the faithful about the importance of the icons in the life of the Church and their role in guiding the faithful toward a deeper understanding of the divine mysteries. In his homily, he reminded the congregation that the icons are not merely images, but sacred means by which the faithful are united with the saints and the heavenly kingdom.
