The Saturday of the Souls at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem

The Patriarchate observed the Saturday of Souls on Saturday, May 25th/June 7th, 2025, in accordance with the Pentecostarion.

On the eve, in the Monastic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, the Canon for the repose of souls was chanted by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and the Hierarchs, and the names of the ever-memorable Patriarchs, Hierarchs, Priests, and monastics of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood were commemorated.

On the morning of Saturday, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the cemetery chapel of Holy Sion by Hieromonk Simeon and Priest Georgios Baramki, with the Hierodeacon Prodromos concelebrating, and the students of the Patriarchal School of Sion chanting. Thereafter, His Eminence Archbishop Theophanes of Gerash conducted the Sacred Memorial Service for the repose of the souls of the Holy Sepulchre Fathers and other brethren buried therein.

Many faithful from the Greek-speaking and Arabic-speaking Communities held Trisagion Services at the graves of their departed relatives.
