The sacred skull of Saint David of Euboea brought to Kalamaria

With the blessing and canonical permission of His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida, the sacred skull of our Holy Father David the Wonderworker was brought on the afternoon of the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, Thursday 29 May 2025, from the Holy Monastery of St. David the Elder, Euboea, to the Holy Church of St. Nicholas of Aretsos-Derkoi, of the Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria.

The venerable skull was brought to Kalamaria by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrite Gabriel.

The reception of the Sacred Skull was held in the propylaea of ​​the Holy Church by His Grace Bishop Nikolaos of Amathus, who resides in Kalamaria, the local Hierarch, Metropolitan Ioustinos, a multitude of priests, deacons and a multitude of pious people, who flooded the interior and exterior of the Church.

After the Doxology, His Eminence Metropolitan Ioustinos of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, with warm words, welcomed the Abbot and his Entourage, expressed his warm thanks and gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida and to the Abbot, for the arrival of Sacred Skull, and spoke briefly about Saint David and the grace of healing, which emanates from his gracious holy relics.

He then invited the students who are taking part in the Panhellenic senior examinations, male and female students, to come before the Sacred Skull, and the Bishop of Amathus read a special prayer, a poem by the Metropolitan Joel of Edessa, for their strengthening and enlightenment.

Encouraging words were delivered to the numerous students by the local Shepherd, His Grace Bishop Nikolaos, and the Abbot, Father Gabriel.

Finally, His Eminence Metropolitan Ioustinos of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, distributed blessings to the students.

It should be noted that Holy Skull will depart from Kalamaria on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, while the Church will remain open from 7:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the evening.
