The Patriarch of Alexandria met with the President of Uganda

His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, is currently undertaking a missionary tour in Uganda.
On Tuesday, 18 February 2025, after the arrival of the Primate of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the first stop of his visit was the country’s Presidential Palace where he met with the President of the Republic of Uganda, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa.
In a post on X, the President of Uganda expressed his joy for the meeting and added: “I was delighted to welcome today to Entebbe Theodore II, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa. We discussed a wide range of issues and agreed on the importance of mutual respect between different religious and cultural groups. This idea is illustrated in the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, where the least likely person ends up being the one to help someone in need. I wish His Beatitude and his associates a good stay in Uganda.”
The meeting with the President was attended by the Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo, while the Patriarch was accompanied by all the Hierarchs of Uganda and his Entourage, which includes His Eminence Metropolitan George of Guinea.
