The newly elected Metropolitan of Aitolia and Akarnania at the Ecumenical Patriarchate
On Monday, 31 October 2022, an official visit to the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was made by His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatios of Dimitrias and Almyros, together with the newly elected Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aitolia and Akarnania, whom he presented to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The new shepherd of this great and sanctified ecclesiastical eparchy of Central Greece, requested and received, before his enthronement, the blessing of His All-Holiness, expressing his deep respect for the Mother Church.
On the one hand, the Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated His Eminence Metropolitan Damaskinos for his worthy election by the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Holy Church of Greece, and wished him a fruitful Pastorate, and on the other hand His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatios of Dimitrias and Almyros for the promotion of the former Chancellor and his close associate.
