The Holy Diocese of Perth Celebrates the Sunday of Orthodoxy
On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 9 March 2025, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth, presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy which took place at the Church of the Annunciation of Our Lady in West Perth.
His Grace’s sermon reflected on the significance of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, which marks the restoration of the veneration of icons in the Orthodox Church. The year 843 was indeed a pivotal moment in church history, as it ended the iconoclastic controversy that had caused division and strife for nearly a century.
His Grace Bishop Elpidios also conveyed to all the paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for a blessed Lenten period.
