The funeral service for the Late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia

On the Thursday of the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, 29 May 2025, at the Metropolitan Church of Panagia in Imbros, the funeral service of the Late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia, who was from Imbros and Tenedos, took place.

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew who was represented by His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, emphasised the many years of contribution of the late Hierarch of the Ecumenical Throne. Also present for the funeral service and taking part where Their Eminences, Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis and Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia.

On behalf of the Imbros – Tenedos Study Society, the Secretary General, Archon Yiannis Yiannakis, delivered a eulogy.

The local authorities, clergy from Greece, the entire school community of the island, relatives and friends, attended the Funeral Service. The burial took place at the Agridia Cemetery, where the parents and siblings of the late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia also rest.
