The Feast of Saint Daniel of Katounakia celebrated at the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi
The Feast Day of Saint Daniel of Katounakia was celebrated with ecclesiastical splendour and due reverence at the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi, where the centre of the feast day celebrations was the Church of Saint George the Great Martyr and Trophy-bearer in the Makrochorion Community.
On the eve of the Feast, Friday 6 September, the Great Vespers Service was celebrated and on the morning of 7 September, the Festive Divine Liturgy, with the blessing of the five loaves (Artoklasia). His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, Patriarchal Commissioner, was present joined in prayer, while the Divine Liturgy was served by Patriarchal Deacon Oikoumenios Amanatidos, Undersecretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Holy Clergy of the Holy Metropolis of Derkoi, with the presence of many pious Christians and pilgrims.
