In a crowded church and with prayerful devoutness, the memory of the Holy Great Martyr Phanourios the Newly Appeared was celebrated in the Holy Church of Saint Stephanos in the Community of Saint Stephanos in Yeşilköy neighbourhood of Constantinople.
On the eve of the feast day, the Vespers service was celebrated, and officiated by the local Shepherd, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, along with the participation of Archimandrite Georgios Christodoulou, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus. The Chanting for the vespers was delivered by the Chanter Mr. Marios Sarantis from Patra. After the Vespers Service, the Holy Supplicatory Canon was chanted in front of the Holy Icon of the Saint, where His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos also blessed the Phanouropites offered by the pious pilgrims.
On the main day of the feast, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the above-mentioned Church, presided over by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi.
