The Feast Day of Saint Anthimos in Chios

On 15 February 2025, The Church, in Greece and abroad, honoured the memory of Saint Anthimos of Chios, who shone in recent years.
The main celebration and focus of the Feast Day took place with the Great Vespers and the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Voitheia of Chios, founded by the Saint, which was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochios of Kissamos and Selino, with the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Markos of Chios, with the participation of Clergy of the local Church as well as from other Dioceses (Holy Metropolis of Kissamos, Holy Metropolis of Lagada, Holy Monastery of Patmos, etc.). A choir of monks from the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos, in Panorama of Thessaloniki chanted the hymns of the feast day.
His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochios of Kissamos preached the holy sermon at both the Vespers and Divine Liturgy, with the highest theological content and the deepest spiritual and even ascetic approach, being fruits of his spiritual ministry in the Church.
The Metropolitan of Chios even awarded him the Order of Saint Isidore for his humble presence in the Church, but also for his patriotic stance before the German President, during which he praised the heroism of the Cretans, during the Greco-German war, the crimes of the aggressors, and above all, the forgetfulness of his contemporaries.

Thousands of faithful during the Sacred Services, but also throughout the two-day period, came to the Holy Monastery to venerate the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary and the grace-flowing relics of Saint Anthimos.
