The Feast Day of Epiphany in Hypsomatheia, Constanstinople
On Saturday, 6 January 2024, the feast day of the Holy Epiphany was celebrated in an festive atmosphere in the historic Hypsomatheia District of Constantinople. On Saturday morning the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place at the Church of Panagia Marmaron, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, Supervisor of the Hypsomatheia District.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Sanctification of the waters and the immersion of the Holy Cross took place on the pier of the Byzantine Gate of Rodos (Narlı Kapı).
Representatives of political parties and local council authorities, a significant number of faithful as well as Armenian Christians all attended the blessing of the waters.

Thanks were expressed to Mr. Stylianos Gulgioun, President of the Higher Education Association of Hypsomatheia, and to the political and municipal authorities of Constantinople for the successful organisation of the event.
Finally, a festive meal was served to all the faithful and official guests along with a rich traditional musical program.
