The Ecumenical Patriarch attends an International Family Forum in Constantinople

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended on Thursday, 22 May 2025, the ceremonial opening of the International Family Forum taking place in Constantinople, with the participation of ministers from 27 countries.

The two-day forum (22-23/5) is held under the theme of “Our Family, Our Future” and is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Family and Social Services of Türkiye, within the framework of the country’s “Year of the Family 2025” initiative.

Turkey’s Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, said that issues ranging from digitalisation and demographic changes to cultural dynamics and social policy will be discussed during the forum. She also stressed that the forum will focus on global risks to the family institution and explore how to strengthen family-centred policies internationally.

The opening of the forum was held in a festive atmosphere and included an artistic cultural program.
