The Divine Liturgy will not be celebrated this year at Panagia Soumela, Pontus

This year, the Divine Liturgy will not be celebrated on the 15th of August at Panagia Soumela of Pontus, according to the Announcement issued by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

As stated in the Announcement: “The interested pious Christians are hereby informed that this year the Divine Liturgy will not be held on the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos (August 15) in the historic Holy Monastery of Panagia Soumela, as the required permission was not granted by the relevant governmental authorities”.
