The Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff visits the Phanar

On Tuesday, 27 May 2025, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received The Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, who is visiting Constantinople within the framework of the 18th Meeting of Chiefs of Armed Forces of Balkan Countries.

After their meeting, the Ecumenical Patriarch invited the Chief of the General Staff to share a meal at the Patriarchal table. During his stay, the General and his entourage venerated and were informed by the Undersecretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod, Deacon Fr. OIkoumenios, about the history of the Venerable Patriarchal Church and the holy relics kept in it.
