The Archbishop of Athens at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Omonia

“Let the church be the centre of our lives,” emphasised His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece. He spoke from the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Omonia, where he presided over the Great Festive Vespers on Tuesday evening. His Grace Bishop Chrysostomos of Evripos co-officiated and delivered the homily.

The Archbishop offered warm wishes for a blessed and joyful celebration and spoke about Saints Constantine and Helen. He noted that bishops are responsible for their parishes and must care for them. He added that each parish is like a family, sometimes large and sometimes small. Every family has its purpose, but also faces many challenges.

“Cooperation and unity are essential, especially when life’s wounds can drive us apart,” His Beatitude emphasised, adding: “Let us not allow hardships to turn us from friends into strangers.” He called on everyone to make the church the centre of our lives and our journey because the love and strength we receive from the church cannot be found anywhere else.
