Ten sick children from Gaza arrive in Greece for treatment

Ten sick and injured children from Gaza have arrived in Greece, where they will receive medical care in hospitals, the Foreign Ministry has announced.

The ministry coordinated the medical evacuation of the children with the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the World Health Organisation and the Egyptian authorities.

Before their departure for Athens, the children were hospitalised at Cairo’s Greek Hospital.

A ministry statement said the children and guardians arrived in Greece on a special flight offered by Aegean.

The guardians will be accommodated in facilities run by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.
