Tanzania: Group baptisms at the Kidamali Missionary Centre

New groups of catechumens from various villages in the Iringa district came to receive Holy Baptism at the Kidamali Missionary Centre, in Tanzania. A day of joy, with the bright faces of young and old shining in the sunlight and their souls radiating the grace of Holy Baptism.

His Grace Bishop Agathonikos of Arusha and Central Tanzania welcomed the newly baptised to the Orthodox Church, spoke to them in a fatherly manner, and advised them on how to continue their journey by participating in the Sacred Mysteries of the Church.

The presence of many people from the Maasai tribe was predominant, who show great enthusiasm and are close to the Orthodox Church, since most Maasai families living near the Missionary Centre have converted to Orthodoxy.

After the baptisms, a meal was offered by Sister Maria in memory of Father Ioannis Karakousis and Dimitrios Argyropoulos.
