Sydney: St Spyridon College Blessing for the new academic year 2025

This year’s Blessing Service (Agiasmo) was conducted by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, representing our Primate, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, together with Parish Priest Father Steven Scoutas and Assistant Priest Father Stavros Ivanos.

Standing proudly alongside the Head of College, Mrs Amelia Katsogiannis, were the President of the Parish, Mr Elia Economou, and her Executive Team. The gathering of close to 900 staff and students was so large that St Spyridon Church filled beyond its capacity, a testament to the College’s growth and enduring mission.

Mrs Katsogiannis stated that “we deeply appreciate the trust that parents place in our College, an institution of the Church dedicated to upholding Greek values and Orthodox phronema.  For 42 years, our unwavering ethos has shaped generations, fostering both academic excellence and spiritual formation.”
