Sydney: Feast Day of Saint Paisios at St Basil’s, Randwick

On the occasion of the Feast Day of Saint Paisios the Athonite, Patron Saint and Guardian of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis presided over the Great Vespers service and Divine Liturgy at the Chapel of Saint Paisios the Athonite, located within St. Basil’s Nursing Home in Randwick. The services were held with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

During his homily, Bishop Iakovos addressed the residents and congregation, reflecting on the life of Saint Paisios. Notably, he highlighted the Saint’s visit to Australia and the recent proclamation by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios during the 12th Clergy-Laity Congress of the Holy Archdiocese, where Saint Paisios was proclaimed as the Patron Saint and Guardian of Australia and the Holy Archdiocese.

Following the conclusion of the services, His Grace Bishop Iakovos conveyed the prayers, love, and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to the faithful present.
