Sanctification Service for the beginning of the New School Year at the School of Holy Zion

On Monday morning, September 3/16, 2024, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem held the service of the sanctification of the water in the Holy Trinity Church of the Patriarchal School of Holy Zion for the blessing of the New School Year 2024-2025.

This ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the School Board, His Eminence Archbishop Isidoros of Hierapolis, the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem, Mr. Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, the teachers and students of the School.

Taking this opportunity, His Beatitude spoke to the students about their duty to oversee their studies for their training and create a solid educational background through higher studies to create a Christian humanistic and Holy Sepulchre moral.

His Beatitude particularly underlined the following: “Amid the raging war situation, the Brotherhood is carrying out a task, which was assigned to it by Divine Providence, with the support of our nation. The School remains the nursery and nurturer of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood and attending the Patriarchal School of Zion is an honour for the students and I hope that this school year will be full of the fruit of education, the fruit of teaching, that there will be respect from the students towards the teachers and good cooperation and mutual respect of the teachers among them, so that the Brotherhood awaits the verification of its expectation that the students will join it and will continue this work of safeguarding the rights of our nation in the Holy Land.
