Samos celebrated the feast day of Saint George the New Martyr

During the Paschal period, Samos celebrated with due ecclesiastical splendour the memory of Saint George the New Martyr, from the town of Chora, Samos and martyred in Ephesus, on the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, 18 May 2025, at the Holy Church of Saint George in Chora, Samos.
On the eve of the feast, Saturday, 17 May 2025, the Great Hierarchical Vespers and the Holy Procession of the Precious Skull and the Holy Icon of the New Martyr around the Holy Church were celebrated. On the main day of the feast, Sunday 18 May 2025, the Resurrection Matins, the Paschal Divine Liturgy, were celebrated, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Eusebios of Samos.

Both on the eve and on the main day of the feast, the Holy Sermon was preached by the local Shepherd, Metropolitan Eusebios of Samos.

The Holy Services were attended by the Political and Military Authorities of the island, the Priests of the Archdiocesan District of Samos and Pythagoreion and a multitude of devout Christians.
