Russian bombings cause damage to Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv

Massive Russian air raids targeted Kyiv and Odesa overnight from Monday to Tuesday.

According to the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Mykola Tochytskyi, Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv was damaged.

“The attacker continues to kill Odesa, its people, and its cultural heritage,” the minister added.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that, on the night of 10 June 2025, the Russian military attacked Ukraine with 322 aerial assault units (315 drones and seven missiles), primarily targeting Kyiv.

According to military data, air defense destroyed 284 of these units, including all missiles.

Ihor Klymenko, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated that Kyiv and the Kyiv and Odesa regions were hit hardest by the Russian attack on 10 June, during which 19 fires broke out.

“The target was political infrastructure. The bombings caused 19 fires, four of which are still ongoing. In the Odesa region, a residential apartment building was hit. Two people were killed and nine were injured. Additionally, a maternity hospital, a first aid station, and a business were damaged. In Kyiv, four people were injured. Klymenko wrote on Telegram that the districts that suffered the greatest damage were Darnytsia, Obolon, Shevchenko, and Holosiiv.
