Phanar: Canonisation of Monk Christophoros Panagiotopoulos, the so-called “Papoulakos”

In continuation of the works of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarch, a unanimous decision was made to accept the recommendation of the Church of Greece regarding the canonisation of the Hieromonk Christophoros Panagiotopoulos, the so-called “Papoulakos”. The canonisation acknowledges his life and contributions, and his feast will be celebrated annually on January 18.

Additionally, on Friday, 30 August 2024, the election of Bishop Maximos (Rudko) was officially announced with the service of the small and great Minima. His Grace elect Bishop Maximos, the Protosyncellus of the Holy Metropolis of Austria, has been elected as the new Bishop of Arista.
