Patriarchal Trisagion for the late Metropolitan of Bizye

On Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in the morning, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew celebrated a Trisagion for the repose of the soul of the late Metropolitan Athenagoras of Bizye, at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George, together with the members of the Patriarchal Court.

Immediately after the Trisagion, the Patriarch departed for his birthplace, the island of Imbros, where on Saturday, 5 July, he will celebrate the 40-day memorial service for the late Metropolitan Kyrillos of Moschonisia, who served as shepherd of the islands of Imbros and Tenedos for eighteen years.

The Patriarch is accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Vasilios of Constantia and Ammochostos, Hierarch of the Church of Cyprus, as well as the Patriarchal Deacons Anatolios Doxastakis and Fotios Poulopoulos.
