Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem visits the Monastery of the Holy Cross
On Saturday morning, August 11 / 24, 2024, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem visited the Holy Cross Monastery with the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem, Mr. Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, Mr. Faidon Kydoniatos, in the presence of the Hegoumen of the Monastery, Archimandrite Christodoulos.
The purpose of His Beatitude’s visit was to inspect the ongoing conservative work in the Monastery, especially of the rich Library of the historic School of the Holy Cross, held by the specialist conservator Mr. Stavros Andreou by the sponsorship of Mr. Athanasios Martinos.
Through this sponsorship, new metal rolling shelves were made to house many of the books and antiquities of this great Holy Cross library.
