Northcote: Evening Divine Liturgy for the Feast Day of Christmas at the Archdiocesan Church of Our Lady ‘Axion Esti’

On Sunday evening, 24 December 2023, an evening Divine Liturgy took place at the Archdiocesan Church of Our Lady ‘Axion Esti’ for the feast day of Christmas. His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, officiated at the Matins Service and presided over the Divine Liturgy.

Bishop Evmenios conveyed to the faithful the blessings and wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, while, instead of a sermon, read the Christmas Message of the Archbishop.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta handed out gifts to the children who were present for the Divine Liturgy. In particular, he offered them a prayer rope, advising them to wear it on their wrist to remind them that Christ loves them and is always by their side.
