Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches visits the Pantokratoros Monastery on Mount Athos

His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, arrived on Saturday, 17 August 2024, at the Holy Pantokratoros Monastery on Mount Athos, in order to preside over, following an invitation by the Monastery, the Feast Day of the Monastery, on the Great Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord (according to the Julian calendar).

The reception of Metropolitan Andreas took place according to the Mount Athos Typikon, in the Katholikon Church of the Monastery, after which the Hierarch of the Ecumenical Throne was warmly addressed by the Abbot of the Monastery, Elder Gabriel. His Eminence duly responded to the Abbot, after which the Polychronion was chanted for the Metropolitan.

His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches will preside over the festive vigil on Sunday night, which will culminate with the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Monday morning.
