Memorial Service for late Archbishop Anastasios by Patriarchs of Jerusalem and Bulgaria and Archbishop of Cyprus


A memorial service was held on Wednesday evening, 29 January 2025, before the body of the late Archbishop Anastasios of Albania by Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and Archbishop George of Cyprus.
Senior hierarchs and clergy from around the world continued to arrive at the Holy Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ to attend the funeral service of the late Archbishop.
On Wednesday evening, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, accompanied by their entourages, arrived at the Cathedral and led a memorial prayer before the body of Archbishop Anastasios.
On Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. local time (12:00 p.m. Greek time), following the Divine Liturgy, the funeral service took place at the Holy Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Tirana.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of the leaders of the Orthodox Church, led by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Also present were Archbishop George of Cyprus, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.
Also present was Metropolitan Nifon of Târgoviște, representing the Patriarchate of Romania, and Metropolitan George of Guinea, representing the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Athens.
