On the Sunday before the feast of Saint Gerasimos, a gathering of Kefalonians of the Greek diaspora, celebrated their patron saint in the Greek community of Lusaka, Zambia. His Eminence Metropolitan John of Zambia presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.
A procession of the holy icon of Saint Gerasimos took place at the end of the Divine Liturgy, while also prayers for the Greek diaspora everywhere were also made. After the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, traditional sweets from the Island of Kefalonia were distributed to the faithful who had gathered for the feast day.
Finally, a luncheon was held with traditional music, dances and traditional dishes from the island of Kefalonia in the courtyard of the Metropolis.
